Over the past few days, I have been feeling the gracious presence of the Goddesses all around and through me. I sense them everywhere…Lady Mary, Isis, Lakshmi, Ishtar, Green Tara, Sekhmet, Kuan Yin, Ixchel and many more. Through the winds, they sent their songs; on the clouds against the fiery sunset in Singapore, I saw their faces; in the puddles after a downpour, I saw them dancing sensually.

I invited them to my heart space and listened to their insights on the metaphysical meaning of a full moon and the lunar eclipse, such as the one occurring tonight.

Fully reflecting the Sun’s rays, a full moon signifies the Sun (masculine/thoughts) embracing and cherishing his counterpart (the Moon/feminine/emotions) in her role in upholding the dual nature of the Earth and the human body. The moon is at her brightest, roundest and most radiant during the full moon phase as she is showered with the full attention of the Sun. She radiates her feminine beauty, sensuality and abundance, luring the Sun to accept her emotional nature. It is a time when egoistic rational thoughts in us are often caused to take a back seat, giving a chance for deep seated feelings to cruise through the body and hopefully, be accepted and acknowledged without judgement. For this reason, full moons are often regarded as the perfect time to perform deep cleansing, healing and releases of old energy patterns, so as to restore the body’s fertility and to prepare it to conceive new ideas (imbibe new energies) when the new moon arrives.

A total lunar eclipse can only occur on a full moon, when Earth blocks the sunlight normally reflected by the Moon. Some sunlight is bent through the Earth’s atmosphere, giving the moon a coppery shine. A lunar eclipse, caused by the Earth coming in between the Sun (thoughts/masculine) and the Moon (feelings/feminine), symbolizes a potent time for rebalancing the Earth’s duality. It presents a window of opportunity for healing the debris trapped in Earth’s consciousness. The best way to support Earth during this time is to honor her elements and caress her body by being in Nature.

As the Earth casts its shadow upon the Moon during the eclipse, without her usual radiance and brightness, the healing effects of a full moon (upon ourselves) are much reduced.

Thus, the Goddesses of ancient times have chosen to infiltrate our atmosphere at this time to supplement the feminine touch of the full moon and to help uplift lowered-order emotional energies from Earth and our bodies.

Open your heart to breathe in their loving and gentle presence. Allow your body to bathed in the golden light of the Divine Mother.
